Job Summary:Assigned to the Construction Organization as the Construction Manager for the AP1000 Poland project, reporting directly to the Poland Nuclear Project Program Construction Manager. Responsible for the organization and direction of all on-site construction related activities for the Poland Nuclear project. Primary clients contact for all project field activities. Responsible for all jobsite activities and ensures construction operations are in compliance with design, specifications, Polish law and that construction operations are completed on schedule, within budget and to quality standards. This position may require candidates to work overtime, weekends, and/or nightshift (as needed). Coordinates construction activities including all actions of Bechtel, subcontractors, suppliers. Responsible for total site management including management of construction subcontractors, professional staff to include field engineering, contract administration, cost and schedule, field procurement, finance and accounting services, and workforce services. Ensures the development and execution of Project Automation Plan, Environmental Compliance Plan, safety plan, site survey plan, non-manual staffing plan, subcontracting plan, labor strategy, Construction Execution Plan, and job-site work rules.Major Responsibilities:Responsible for implementation of Bechtel’s Zero Accident safety program, security, housekeeping, and fire protection on the construction site and ensures strict adherence to providence and Polish law and safety codes. Ensures the field organization is composed of qualified and knowledgeable personnel and ensures effective personnel utilization. Ensures employee performance reviews are conducted on field staff in accordance with established schedule. Establishes and implements construction schedules, methods, manning charts, material, and equipment requirements. Controls all job-site expenditures for labor equipment, material and services and ensures field operations are within the budget. Responsible for overall project performance and analyzes performances for adherence to quality standards and schedules. Plans and establishes procedures to ensure all construction operations meet engineering designs and specifications. Ensures corporate policies and procedures are fully implemented. Establishes project field procedures to be worked in conjunction with the corporate standards, as necessitated by project conditions and client requirements. Responsible for labor harmony on the jobsite and coordinates the activities with corporate workforce services departments. Maintains effective client relationship and is the primary contact for client's communication with the field activities. Maintains an effective relation with other functional departments. Develops, implements, and administers a job-site security plan and coordinates the activities with corporate Security department. Coordinates all job-site's contractual activities. Participates in contracts and subcontracts negotiations. Directs the development and implementation of a training program to ensure subordinate personnel receives progressive training to enable them to assume additional responsibilities. Responsible for overall development of construction training and any testing as required. Directs the overall project safety programs and ensures strict adherence to Providence specific requirements and Polish law and safety codes. Responsible for implementation of an effective community relations plan for the site. Ensures required permits and licenses are in place prior to the start of the affected work at site. Is responsible and accountable for construction license reporting to include construction Log Book entries and required notifications for permit closure. Responsible for the implementation of cost savings methodologies in the Construction organization and the promotion of other continuous improvement processesEducation and Experience Requirements:Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experienceTotal Rewards/BenefitsFor decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of engineers and beyond! Required Knowledge and Skills:Must be a chartered registered engineer and capable of being the registered construction manager at site as required by Polish law. Must be Authorized to work in Poland. Applicants must have native-level proficiency in Polish. Must be able to obtain an office or site security badge. This project may have multiple work schedules that are subject to change and may require employees to work overtime, weekends and/or night shift when a business need arises. Demonstrated leadership in a team-based environment. Minimum 10 years of supervisory experience including management of multifunctional organizations. Knowledge of all phases of construction operations relating to field activities of all disciplines, construction technologies and jobsite management. Knowledge of the phases of project scoping, planning, procurement of materials using Engineering Inspection Records, Field Material Requisitions/Material Withdrawal Requests and execution relating to the construction of multi-discipline works. Knowledge of project-specific environmental compliance requirements. Thorough knowledge of Bechtel’s Zero Accident Philosophy or equivalent. Experience managing both subcontracted and self-performed/direct hire labor construction projects. Experience in executing various contracting strategies to include Lum Sum Turnkey (LSTK), Cost Plus, Time and Material, Unit Rate type contracts. Thorough knowledge of the content and implementation of Nuclear Quality Policies on Construction Projects. Thorough knowledge of the content and implementation of Bechtel Labor Management Plans. Direct hire execution experience managing projects of $300M or greater. Prior Nuclear/EPC construction experience as a Construction Manager. Prior experience with commercial Nuclear Power projects or Government Nuclear Facilities. Prior international experience in establishment of training programs/camp and key infrastructure for camp operations. Prior experience as assigned licensed/chartered registered construction manager in Poland or EU responsible for implementing permit requirements and construction log book and permit closure.Shaping tomorrow together
