Global Strategic Sourcing Manager, Europe Packaging

The Opportunity:Avantor®, a Fortune 500 company, is a leading global provider of mission-critical products and services to customers in the biopharma, healthcare, education & government, and advanced technologies & applied materials industries.We are currently looking for a Global Strategic Sourcing Manager, Europe Packaging to join our team in the Czech Republic or in Poland and to be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, executing on sourcing initiatives, and managing sourcing activities focused on supporting our packaging activities at our European facilities.What we’re looking for:Professional experience in production environment and packaging material category and/or professional experience in supply chain/distribution European sourcing for chemical/pharmaceutical industry Experience with e-tendering/e-quotations for direct materials and servicesMatrixed international project management experienceNegotiation skills on professional levelProficiency in MS Excel and in large data processingSpend control and spend productivity execution skillsTechnical understanding and close collaboration with packaging engineeringSolid experience with commodity index tracking and linking to cost plus contractsProven contracting and contract management skillsWillingness to travel, also internationally as requiredFluent English communication skills, 2nd language a plusHow you will thrive and create an impact:Regular commercial review on the market in the sourcing cycles, including but not limiting to review of unit price level and price degression for increasing volume intervals, surcharge level. The price list structure standardization and harmonization.Management of RFI, RFP (including price quotations, tenders and negotiations) based on existing tender plan or individual company needs. Analysis of the current price level in Europe and recommendation of the optimum price level for the company per sub-category, per specification and per country.Supplier consolidation activities and technical specification harmonization activities for Packaging.Identification of savings opportunities in Europe for the 24-month strategic category project pipeline plan. Regular update of the category savings tracker(s).Analysis of the supplier's price increase requirements resulting into optimum solution proposal for the company.Risk mitigation activities in Europe, including but not limiting to 2nd sourcing strategy, revision of supplier’s business plans and supplier’s alternate production locations, revision of supplier’s contracts in the area of liabilities, insurance, indemnification, claims, delayed supplies, safety etc.Evaluations of the current contractual conditions and re-negotiations with the suppliers resulting into contractual condition improvement and optimization.Management of dedicated packaging material projects in Europe based on company targets and deadlines.Active sourcing for stakeholders in Europe in case of the new business cases, new demands, new projects.Management of relationships with Packaging suppliers.
