Sales Manager Defence Land EMEA (Remote position)

Job PurposeTo professionally manage relationships with land related security, defence and peacekeeping customers, so that EnerSys is the preferred electrical power system partner/supplier. The purpose is to grow our influence and sales with our existing customers along with developing additional sales with new customers in Eastern Europe. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Take sales responsibility for specific territories/countries/customers and develop customer account sales plans with agreed objectives and tactical plans to achieve them. Regularly visit and communicate with customers to understand their real technical and commercial needs to help develop a valued long term relationship. Organize and support customer visits to plants with the local plant representative. Develop relationships with end users wherever possible to improve operational feedback. Contribute to and develop sales pipelines. Capture market intelligence to populate and update our customer / prospect stakeholder mapping data. Regularly develop and present sales material and deliver product demonstrations for batteries and battery management systems. Work with the marketing team to develop a clear understanding of market trends and the competition in direct and adjacent markets that could impact our competitiveness and offering. Have a thorough knowledge of customer tender/procurement processes and the decision makers in that process. Develop and maintain an up to date understanding of battery and power management technology. Produce professional and convincing offers that can be tailored to specific customer needs and thereby maximize value for EnerSys and the customer. Attentive management of pricing to maintain margin. Work to and/or manage price lists as appropriate. Work closely with local country sales teams to understand and support customer needs and sales. Work closely with the shared service centre in Poland and manufacturing plants to prepare offers and process orders effectively and ensure customer deliveries meet expectations. Where appropriate conduct contract review activities with the manufacturing plants to ensure clear communication of needs. Ensure all necessary export licences and any other regulatory requirements are considered and completed. Support and engage in all warranty claims. Support regular forecasting, planning and reporting activities including CRM (when established). Working with the marketing function to identify and nurture prospects and business development opportunities.
