KONE’s Global Compliance team develops and implements KONE’s global compliance program. Our policies, processes, risk assessments, third party due diligence, training and awareness activities address topics including human rights, fraud, corruption, conflicts of interest, sanctions, and harassment and discrimination. We conduct investigations into allegations of employee misconduct and advise on preventative and remedial actions.We are now looking for a Compliance Manager, Europe to join our Global Compliance team and focus on implementing our compliance program in Europe, together with global and local KONE stakeholders.The position is located in Pero (Milan), Italy or Warsaw, Poland. The preferred start would be in August/September 2024, or as agreed.Main responsibilities and key activities:Conduct country-level risk assessments, develop action plans based on findings and follow up with the business;Promote a compliance-oriented culture and mind-set among employees and partners of KONE units in Europe, including internal communication campaigns to raise awareness;Actively participate in the local implementation of global compliance policies;Provide advice to employees, HR, management, and other stakeholders on compliance related topics, such as conflicts of interest, sanctions, fraud, corruption, human rights, harassment and discrimination;Effect sanctions screening and other third-party due diligence in respect of KONE’s business in Europe under the guidance of Global Compliance;Analyze and advise on KONE's local current or proposed business activities to ensure that they comply with relevant laws and KONE’s code of conduct;Lead internal compliance investigations in collaboration with the Global Compliance team;Communicate with relevant authorities about compliance related matters;Lead local activities to ensure awareness of and compliance with KONE’s employee, supplier and distributors codes of conduct;Establish training programs and conduct training on compliance matters for business teams in Europe;Support with other compliance related matters as per the directions of Global Compliance;Report directly to the Director, Global Compliance and in dotted line to the SVP, Legal, Europe.Requirements for the position:Higher education (e.g. Master of Law);Additional qualification in economics, finance, or audit is a strong advantage;5 years of relevant compliance experience, preferably in large multinational companies;Good knowledge of administrative procedures, regulations on anti-corruption and on other compliance related subjects;Basic knowledge of criminal law and knowledge of customs regulations and certification rules is an advantage;Experience in risk management, internal controls or internal audit is an advantage;Experience of communication with state authorities and participation in the administrative procedures;Strong leadership skills;Ability to work independently and with a long-term perspective;Excellent communication skills, including experience of communicating at all levels of an organization;Fluent written and oral English.
