It’s an opportunity to be part of something special.Role overviewIn this role you will be a part of a Global Procurement structure of Haleon and will be reporting to Director, R&D Procurement & Oral Health Innovation. This role will ensure execution, coordination and tracking of contract and financial information, key to Haleon performance and will also support sourcing initiatives when appropriate.In the role you will be responsible for management and execution of contracts, purchase orders and invoice process while engaging with third parties supporting R&D (e.g.: CROs, clinical sites, HCPs, Pre-Clinical vendors) within Procurement. You will act as the centralised contract management contact for clinical development activities. Maximising value and minimising the risk of working with external third parties through effective collaboration with Haleon Clinical Development teams and external parties, by supporting study teams' contract management with third party suppliers for Clinical Development activities.You will act as subject matter expert for contract compliance in the specific region for the service in scope, working with Business Owners to develop both understanding of their requirements and to prepare appropriate solutions for their supplier contracting needs.Use contracting and legal knowledge to support the R&D Procurement organisation in accelerating the R&D pipeline.Proactively identify and facilitate resolution of all business, legal, compliance and due diligence issues through escalation to the appropriate group within Haleon when necessary (i.e., the study team, finance, compliance, legal or risk/due diligence, etc.)Work in alignment with the Haleon Risk Due Diligence Team to assess suitability of suppliers, apply appropriate language to contracts after Risk Assessment is completed to create a robust contract that minimizes Risk to HaleonBuild relationships and ensure the appropriate communication strategy is in place with key stakeholders; understand business requirements, identify opportunities to create value, position Procurement’s value proposition, and align contracting strategies to assurance of compliance, quality, service, cost and innovation.Support simplification and continuous improvement on Haleon sourcing and contracting processes.Deliver ongoing contract management in a timely and appropriate manner including Changes in Scope/Amendment, conflict resolution (including developing recommendations for resolution) to reduce operational, financial and/or legal risk for that engagement or to the study.Determine, define, and review the scope of contract services required, suitability of suppliers, identification, and resolution of all business and legal issues, drive timely contract review and approval flow with Business Owners until fully executed contracts and ensure that all relevant approvals are obtained in advance and on time.Ensure upload of all contracts and amendments, into appropriate repository.Track contracts in relevant databases; ensure all contract pre-requisites are in place prior to contract execution.Create, track, and obtain Purchase Order (PO) approval for contracts in scope executed globally.Negotiate and execute low/medium complexity agreements in a timely manner under a defined category or contracting strategy. Understand legal challenges in a global environment, communicate with peers in legal, finance and/or risk management teams, and provide guidance related to contract drafting and contract negotiation. Make system updates to support contract reporting.Ensuring Haleon policies are adhered to with respect to appropriate authorization and routing of contracts for technical approval or grant of authority ensuring that the appropriate production, distribution, and document management occurs.Consistently demonstrate Haleon values and behaviours, foster the environment of a modern employer. Contribute to cultural change to enable an organisation focused on decision-making accountability, quality, speed, performance, results, and collaboration.Be accountable for developing and delivering against performance goals.Build relationships with leaders of key suppliers to ensure the value of the supplier-Consumer Healthcare relationship is optimized.Qualifications & Skills:Academic degree in Contract Management, Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration5+ years’ experience in Pharmaceutical/Consumer Healthcare preferably in Clinical/Medical Operations Support – Contract Management- Clinical development or R&D procurementProject management experienceUnderstanding of corporate and operational business needs; Ability to liaise with other functions, e.g., finance, procurement, medical affairs, and external vendors as needed.Comfortable in influencing without authority across functions up to the functional management teamsGood practical knowledge of Change Management process and its practical implementation Rapid learning ability to deal with complex and novel situations including negotiation, project management and contractingTrack record of success in continuous improvement, innovative work practices, simplification and driving changes to achieve these.Demonstrated experience in working effectively in a complex matrix organization with senior internal stakeholder interfaces.Well-developed soft skills are essential for success, exceptional verbal and written communication skills, strong teamwork, ability to interact well with all levels of management and staff.Established contract management skills and aptitude coupling both hard and soft skills that has included multifunctional projects in a complex matrixUnderstanding of key activities in the clinical development functionExperience in work requiring high level of attention to detail and excellent follow-up. Ability to create business solutions as required for efficient tracking, coordination, presentation, and communication purposes.Ability to work with a sense of urgency, exhibiting resilience under pressure.Strong analytical, problem solving, influencing and organisation skills.None of us should ever feel like we are standing still.
