Board, Paper and Tissue Technology Solutions Business Unit (BTS) supplies mill and machine improvements and equipment worldwide with innovative technology, the right services for reliable production, raw material and energy efficiency and circularity to help improve our customers performance forward.We are now looking for Manager, Engineering to build and lead our new Wroclaw mechanical and machine automation Chief Engineering team in Services Business Line, Board, Paper and Tissue Technology Solutions Business Unit (BTS).We are looking for business-minded, self-driven, inspiring, and motivating leader. Typically, you will support sales and application phase and coordinate your team’s engineering projects from the start until the start-up and customer’s acceptance.The location of the position is Wroclaw, Poland and we have hybrid working model. Your main tasks and responsibilities include:Build, lead and manage growing team of Chief Engineers and external resources in complex and demanding improvement/modernization and R&D projects for board, paper and tissue machines.Responsible of mechanical and automation chief engineering team resource management and development.In charge of detail engineering subcontracting management and developmentCollaborate and work together in daily basis with BTS engineering team Managers, Valmet SMM (Small and Medium size Machines) and capital business board, paper and tissue machine engineeringTechnology and technical support to sales and application, on-site personnel and R&DCollaborate and support our Global Area organizations engineering, sales, application, R&D and delivery projects.Active member of several BTS and Valmet engineering management teamsExpectations:Relevant educational background such as Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in EngineeringMinimum five years of relevant experience from mechanical or machine automation engineering, delivery projects and/or technical project management backgroundPro-active team leading and people management skills and ability to drive changeCapability to lead project teams, see the big picture and to prioritize in changing situationsGood networking and collaboration skills with employees, project teams, customers, and other stakeholdersKnowledge of board, paper or tissue machine industry, processes, engineering and/or automation technology seen as benefitKnowledge of mechanical 3D modelling software like Catia V5/V6 or from automation side Siemens S5/7 and PLC and especially Valmet DNA seen as strength In addition, you communicate fluently in English – other language skills will be a benefit. You have excellent communication and negotiations skills which enables you to operate in global business environment and customer interface between Valmet and the customer.
