Financial/Accounting Controller – GBS/R2R Location: Warsaw, Poland Role purpose:                                                     We are looking for a structured and communicative Finance/Accounting Controller  with a constructive and proactive approach. The Financial/Accounting Controller will be responsible for ensuring accounting consistency and integrity in accordance with policies; developing and maintaining effective communication, interaction, and excellent relationship with the transactional accounting teams as well as other GBS functions and non GBS organization.   Responsibilities:   Monthly closing activities: correctness, completeness, accuracy and timeliness of the monthly reporting  in accordance with GAAP, deadlines and internal procedures Coordinate with various departments (both finance and non-finance, across multiple countries) to ensure financial records are accurate and completed in a timely manner Monthly analysis and reporting. Analyzing, explaining and substantiating deviations Close collaboration with General Ledger and Retail Accounting departments and making sure that the closing process runs efficiently; Coordinate and comply the local reporting requirements and tax filings. Compliance around local reporting, tax fillings, VAT, CIT and other taxes, where required supported by external providers and advisor  and advising the business function as subject matter expert Preparing and/or coordinating statistical reporting and internal/external reporting Preparation, coordination and finalization of annual statutory reporting and external audits Participating and prepare for internal audits Research technical accounting issues for compliance Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls Supporting Business Control in Budgeting and Forecasting processes Continuous improvement initiatives and coordination the standardization and harmonization agenda in R2R area (together with GPO and other GBS departments) Identifying opportunities regarding robotics and process automation Setting up and implementing enhanced financial processes   Requirements/ key success factors:   A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration At least 5 years’ experience in R2R/GL roles and  2 years of experience on the similar role, either as a (Junior) Financial/Accounting Controller is a plus Practical knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Experience with and ability to advise on compliance around VAT, CIT and other taxes Knowledge on preparation of the annual accounts statutory financial statements Experience in working in an international company or SSC serving multiple countries SAP experience is a plus Proficient skills in English (written and spoken ), any other language is a plus Proficiency in the use of Excel Quality and deadline oriented Excellent communication skills
