As Head of People, you'll play a vital role in making Surfer the best tech company out there. About the role: As the Head of People, you'll report directly to the CEO and work closely with senior management to develop and execute strategic People initiatives, contributing to our company culture and growth. Your mission - optimize HR processes, foster employee growth and engagement, empower our managers to become exceptional leaders, and enhance communication across the organization. These efforts will not only align with our business objectives but also nurture the most valuable asset of Surfer – our exceptional team Wrocław, Grodzka Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement People strategy and roadmap aligning business and people needs. Efficiently manage HR operations - improve and document processes, implement tools, and define clear roles and responsibilities, ensuring accountability. Provide leadership, guidance, and drive all strategic HR initiatives, including talent acquisition, performance management, learning and development, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and employer branding. Model and facilitate excellent communication and collaboration across all Surfer teams. Guide our managers to help them become great leaders, providing exceptional care and support to their teams. Cultivate strong relationships with Surfers and become their trusted partner. Drive change and assist in scaling while maintaining Surfer’s unique vibe. Be a trusted sparring partner for the executive team, leading discussions on people matters and fostering a culture of open dialogue and strategic partnership. Manage our People team - Agata, Kasia, Luiza, Magda, and Patrycja are waiting for you ✅ Must have: At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role within HR (preferably in a multicultural tech startup environment). Providing HANDS-ON long-term 360 HR support to founders, managers and employees in several areas: communication, organizational culture, feedback, recruitment, people development and HR process design. Proficiency in English language in both speaking and writing. Experience in scaling organizations and change management: Demonstrated ability to drive and manage growth in diverse, cross-cultural teams; designing and executing effective change management plans. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization. Experience in remote working : Highly experienced in leading remote teams, with expertise in establishing effective remote work policies, communication, and team-building practices. Growth mindset: Embracing challenges, learning from feedback and finding lessons and inspirations. Exceptional communication skills , both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely. Exceptional emotional intelligence , with a strong emphasis on empathy, a positive outlook, and a pragmatic, solution-focused approach to challenges. Nice to have: Data-driven: Experienced in data-driven HR, using data to guide strategy, measure impact, and drive continuous improvement in all HR functions. Building or designing employer branding programs: Crafting and implementing strategies to enhance the company's employer brand, attracting top talent and fostering a positive organizational reputation. Coaching and/or mentoring experience across different levels of seniority (exec team, middle management, employees). Experience with labor laws.
