Global Clinical Solutions (GCS) drives the delivery of services and technology for AstraZeneca for its internal and external stakeholders.The Manager, GCS supports teams to improve process effectiveness and performance in operational processes/procedures within the department, as well as providing support and guidance in the development of processes owned by Global Clinical Solutions.Individuals with this job will coordinates/lead and deliver GCS services across projects and/or other activities that enable delivery of Clinical Development programs to time, cost, and quality across all delivery models. They may be assigned one or more roles relating to the development and maintenance of processes, systems and services. All Managers, GCS will lead and project manage improvement projects as needed.Responsibilities:As the member of a specific activity team the Manager, GCS:Coordinates and delivers GCS services and coordinates life cycle management and business continuity for projects services and technology. Provides expert support to user communities includingI. conducting relevant process/system/tool trainingsII. facilitating knowledge sharingIII. establishing of best practiceIV. ensuring communication with relevant stakeholders across GCS and AZConducts critical analyses of processes and tools to define business usage and identifies opportunities to improve efficiency/effectiveness of systems/services/processes whilst reducing business continuity risks. Contributes to and/or develops business cases for continuous improvement projectsLeads or manages business improvement projects according to lean principles, including planning, prioritizing, implementing and tracking deliveryActs as a source of knowledge in one or more areas of GCSSupports the implementation of changes to improve the way various functions and teams performEvaluates and monitors the performance and efficiency of programs to ensure that program implementation is on targetResponsible for training colleagues to use continuous improvement in the new ways of working and embed change cultureGrows capabilities, applies new approaches to improve work; and has positive impact on team performance creating learning opportunity for othersResponsible for knowledge management of continuous improvement activities and ensuring that the knowledge is used in the selection and execution of future activitiesSkills and capabilities:Essential:University degree in related discipline, preferably in biological science or healthcare-related fields, such as medicine, nursing, or equivalent experienceAbility to work collaboratively; proven organizational and analytical skills, and proven skills to deliver to time, cost and qualityGood project management skillsExcellent knowledge of spoken and written EnglishStrong business communication, stakeholder management and presentation skillsWell-developed organisational and interpersonal skillsEnsures risks and issues management to ensure effective delivery.
