The HAWK University of Applied Sciences Hildesheim/Holzminden/Göttingen is seeking to fill the following permanent position at the Center for Information, Media and Technology in Hildesheim at the earliest possible date: IT Manager (m/f/d) (E 15 TV-L, full-time) HAWK Hildesheim/Holzminden/Göttingen is one of seven state-run universities in Lower Saxony. Almost 6,500 students are currently studying at the university's three locations in a total of six faculties with a wide range of subjects. The IT department operates and maintains a modern and efficient IT infrastructure for teaching, research and administration at the university. The Head of IT is responsible for the conceptual and operational aspects of digitalization, IT services and IT security at the university. We are looking for a qualified personality with leadership skills who will strategically develop the digitalization and IT services of the HAWK in an efficient and service-oriented manner and in line with the challenges of a modern dynamic university. In this context, you will take on the following tasks Your tasks Strategic further development of IT supply Supporting the university as part of the digitalization strategy Developing and implementing IT security concepts in collaboration with the Information Security Officer Technical responsibility for large IT projects Management of the IT team with currently 33 employees, six trainees and 15 support staff at all three locations Networking at state level with regard to IT security, digitalization and strategic cooperation Your profile Completed university degree (Master's or university diploma), preferably in (business) computer science, economics or a comparable field with IT relevance; a doctorate is desirable Relevant professional and management experience, at least at middle management level in IT institutions or IT companies; knowledge of IT landscapes in the higher education sector is an advantage Experience in agile project management Personal requirements Analytical and strategic way of working Strong communication skills to reach and convince the various target groups within the university Decision-making and implementation skills We offer you a lively working environment and a collegial culture of cooperation in the areas of research and teaching, the design and further development of new digitization projects at the university in close cooperation with the Executive Board as well as the continuous updating and further development of the IT area.
