Purpose of the positionSupport MacGregor’s strategic and financial targets by managing and reporting steel category savings: Develop and execute the Steel category strategy through alignment with MacGregor division Sourcing, Cost Competitiveness, R&D, Engineering, and Supplier Development. Provide sourcing leadership and direction to the divisional buyers in the steel category, including supplier selection, contracts, commercial pricing, and key supplier’s KPI’s. Drive Macgregor to achieve sustainability targets in the steel category. Represent SSC in the MacGregor Sustainability Network Main tasks and responsibilities Develop and implement MacGregor Steel Category Sourcing and Sustainability strategies Develop and implement Steel Category Sourcing strategies which are aligned with business development direction, cost competitiveness, and engineering requirement Represent MacGregor sourcing in the sustainability network attending events meetings associated with it ensuring profitable growth through sustainability. Investigate ways and means of reducing our carbon footprint while maintaining a competitive edge. Streamline and harmonise steel category strategy and supply base in MacGregor, collaborating closely with Divisional Sourcing. Identify/search, develop and maintain the preferred supplier base according to sourcing strategies Market intelligence: analyse and evaluate markets and supplier trends within the category to ensure that sourcing is based on best practice ‘intelligence' Provide guidelines in contract / cost negotiations to ensure steel category strategy implementation Lead the category core team. Work closely with Supplier Relationship Managers (SRM) and have regular follow up on their work within the preferred supplier base Managing preferred partners together with VM/SRMs’; Productivity and cost development actions with preferred partners Support and regularly follow up the Cost Competitiveness actions as well as preferred suppliers involvement Decision maker in business cases (according to Authorization policy) Define, report and reach targets for Quality, Delivery, Cost, Innovation(QDCI) in the categories HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for securing own and co-workers’ safety and health with all possible means. Description of subordinate / function responsibilities if applicable. What you’ll need to succeed Education: B.Sc./M.Sc. Mechanical Engineer or Supply Chain or Business Management Experience: At least 7 years of Strategic Sourcing and Supply Management in global environment, preferably in relevant categories Management experience gained in a large multinational company with a matrix organisational structure essential. Budget and business plan development and implementation. Extensive experience in working with global and cross-cultural teams Experience with Category Strategy development and implementation Experience sourcing in steel category preferred Competencies: Strong Negotiation and relationship building skills Success in collaborating with key work partners and able to maintain relationships at the executive level Experience in legal contractual matters with the ability to set-up, arrange, understand, and agree complex contracts with suppliers, legal and Macgregor stakeholders. Strong presentation and writing skills: Ability to communicate clearly and express self well in groups and in one-to-one conversations Ability to gather relevant information systematically; consider a broad range of issues or factors; grasp complexities and perceive the relationship among problems or issues; seek input from others Build an effective team committed to organisational goals; foster collaboration among team members Demonstrate resourcefulness to effectively leverage and focus resources across organisational/ geographic boundaries Full understanding of cost breakdowns Understanding of the supply chain and cost drivers for the categories Knowledge of Cargotec products and supplier base preferred Knowledge of Strategy building and implementation Exceptional integrity; operating at the highest level of ethical standard, is required Ability to cope with ambiguity and complexity is necessary Ability to manage multiple projects and relationships while remaining focused on the key deliverables is key.
